Formulasi losion antioksidan ekstrak etanol daun jambu biji (Psidium guajava) dengan variasi konsentrasi basis lanolin

Usage of natural antioxidants as a skin protector is still not much. One of the plants that produce natural antioxidants is guava leaves. This research aimed to make formulations of topical cosmetic dosage in the form of lotion from the ethanol extract of guava (Psidium guajava) leaves which fulfill the stability condition, physical properties test, and antioxidant activity was tested by 1,1-diphenil-2-picrylhidrazyl (DPPH) method. The ethanol extract of guava leaves was prepared by maceration method. Lotion of ethanol guava leaves extract were produced for 5 formulas with lanolin concentration variation on the formula I-V are 5%, 7%, 9%, 11%, and 13% respectively. Lotion was prepared by adding the hydrophobic phase to hydrophilic phase. The physical tests was the measurement of pH, viscosity, homogeneity test, stability test, spreadibility test, and adhesion test for four weeks. Lotion’s antioxidant activity assay is using DPPH method. The result showed that ethanol extract of Psidium guajava leaves containing flavonoids, and it could be formulated into topical cosmetic in the form of lotion that fulfilled the physical stability condition and physical properties test. Formula II (Lanolin 7%) is the best formulation with pH 7,3, viscosity 26440 Cp, spreadibility 8,30 cm, and adhesion 0,43 second which is homogenous and physically stable, and also has the activity in 15,216 µg/mL concentration with 18,88% percentage reduction value.
